By designing and 3D printing this wallet, i found my best settings to print TPU-95 filament! After tweaking, these settings serve as a good foundation for my future flexible 3D prints.

In the realm of 3D printing, enthusiasts and professionals alike are constantly seeking materials that offer both durability and flexibility to bring their creations to life. Among the plethora of options available, Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) filament has emerged as a game-changer, revolutionizing the way we approach 3D printing projects.

TPU is a type of elastomer that combines the advantages of plastic and rubber, making it exceptionally flexible, durable, and resistant to abrasion. Its unique properties make it an ideal choice for a wide range of applications, including prototyping, functional parts, prosthetics, and even fashion accessories.

Only the first six layers were printed at a lower speed than the rest on top. This to get a solid start with good adhesion to the print bed.

The video below shows which print settings i used to print a wallet. I show two 3D printed wallets together with these settings. In a nutshell: only the first six layers were printed at a lower speed than the rest on top. This to get a solid start with good adhesion to the print bed. After these layers, everything was printed at a higher speed with a little more filament flow to speed up the process.

How to 3D print TPU filament?

My absolute favorite flexible filament for my current printer is TPU-95 from PolyMaker. If you are interested in this flexible filament, you can buy PolyMaker PolyFlex™ on eBay. Do you want to know more? Then check out my YouTube channel about 3D printing. By clicking the button below, you can subscribe directly. Thank you!

Sometimes you 3D printed something and wished it was a little different. Some holes are too narrow or things just need to be shorter for example. Then the Modifi3D (Original) 3D print finishing tool comes in handy!

This tool consists of a unit that can be powered through USB. When the red light turns on by pressing the button, the installed tip heats up very quickly! Then you can push it through your 3D print to change what you want. After some time without pressing the button, the light turns off and then the tip cools down. There are four different tips you can choose from. In the video in this article i show you how i used the Modifi3D. I demonstrate it in general by cutting some Dalgona Squid Game cookies.

A quick look at how i use this tool

This tool costs around $40,-. Although i don’t use it much, sometimes i’m glad i have it next to me. I did enlarge some bolt holes and nut cavities while i was building a 3D printed F1 car and cut of some objects in the past. Interested in buying this handy tool? You can shop through my affilitate link on eBay without extra costs. You can read more information about affiliate links on this page of my website.

A great FreeCAD addon is the Fasteners workbench! Now you can assemble your parts digitally in FreeCAD. By downloading this addon, you automatically have the option to add fasteners to your 3D model in FreeCAD.

When it’s installed, you can choose the Fasteners workbench in the dropdown menu. The buttons will change according to this workbench. Now you can select many types of fasteners to fit into your 3D model.

Check out my videos on the AllVisuals4U channel to learn more about FreeCAD! I’ve been uploading a lot of tutorials there.

Also, i made a video about this. You can see how and where i install the Fasteners workbench in FreeCAD. Then i show you how i add a few fasteners to a 3D model and change them later. Click the video on this page to watch it!

This article is about a collaboration i started back in 2019. I started to create FreeCAD videos on the AllVisuals4U channel with another channel called Joko Engineeringhelp. He created a lot of awesome spoken SolidWorks and FreeCAD tutorials!

So we decided to collab and created some videos together. We started with a FreeCAD to Blender collaboration. I designed a bottle in FreeCAD and Joko Engineeringhelp rendered that bottle in Blender! I also designed his logo in FreeCAD and 3D printed this. Another video is about injection molding. He designed an injection mold to create a rib design video and i demonstrated how i created the cavities inside the mold. If you want to watch these collaboration videos, here’s a playlist!

A video playlist of collaboration videos with Joko Engineeringhelp

So i hope to make more videos together with him, which is a great way to show some FreeCAD skills together! Curious to the injection mold video he made? You can check it out here too.

And also, don’t forget to check out the channel of Joko Engineeringhelp here! Contrary to my shorter and quicker video style, he made a lot of detailed tutorial videos about FreeCAD and more.

I 3D printed this awesome scaled F1 car without electronics! This model was downloaded from Thingiverse. It’s meant as an open RC model, but i use it as decoration only. How did i make it?

I printed all plastic parts in two different colors, black and yellow. I mostly printed with PolyTerra™ PLA. To create a cool color combination, i 3D printed the dual extrusion parts too. You see the yellow nose has a black top. The most parts can be printed in one single color. You can watch the video i made about this 3D printed F1 car below.

A quick look at how i built this F1 car

So i didn’t use electronics in this 3D print. I found some M3 screws that fitted and for the bearings, i 3D modeled and printed some simple bearings that i created in FreeCAD. These ‘bearings’ were the same size as the ones i needed and are fine when you want to use this F1 car purely as decoration. The wheels can turn smoothly enough! I also made a video tutorial about creating these bearings in FreeCAD.

How i created the simple bearings in FreeCAD

Altogether, i’m really happy with this amazing 3D print! Even without RC elements. Finally, i finished the model with a cool 3D printed helmet with face. I made a short video about this, where you can also find the link in the description to download this helmet. This non-RC F1 car can shine on a nice place in your home or at the office for example. The model is created by Daniel Norée. Visit the web page of the full build guide here. Also don’t forget to check out his YouTube channel. I hope i got you inspired to build some cool 3D prints!

Should you buy PolyTerra™ PLA by PolyMaker? For me it’s a big yes! I love the low price and properties of this filament in combination with the intention of PolyMaker to become more environmentally friendly.

This PLA filament has a matte finish and is very tough, which means it doesn’t break so easily. It’s very bendable in contrast to other PLA i used, which was way more brittle. A big advantage is that removing supports is much easier with this filament! You can watch my review video here!

I reviewed PolyTerra™ PLA myself

If you talk about the pricing of this filament, in my opinion it’s very cheap! A 1 kg spool of 1.75mm filament only costs USD 19.99 in the US and EUR 19.99 in the EU! The box and spool are made out of recycled carton. For each purchased spool, PolyMaker will plant a tree in the region where the spool was bought!

If you want to support me, you can buy the filament through this affiliate link on eBay. Read more information on the Affiliate Shops page of my website.

A great thing about FreeCAD is that you can add many workbenches in addition to the standard ones. If you create your designs in the Part Design workbench for example, you can download and install a Fasteners workbench to manage your screws and bolts for your project!

When in FreeCAD, select the ‘Tools’ tab and click on ‘Addon manager’. If you don’t see all workbenches appear, don’t worry! It seems to be a FreeCAD 0.18 problem. From version 0.19, the problem should be solved.

The video is on the AllVisuals4U YouTube channel. If you want to see more FreeCAD tutorials? I made a lot of them, so if you want to check them out, i would be thankful!

So now you can install all the available workbenches you need for your CAD project. Below, you can watch the video where i demonstrate how to install a workbench in FreeCAD.
